Even though the app has a new version, it's great! I think we have to get used to the changes, which might take some bits of time. I can explain how to use wireless headphones on the app. First, go to "Settings", and then tap "Audio Prefrences". Next, tap the built in speaker option, and then connect your headphones. If you already connected you headphones, you have got a bit of a headstart! I really hope this works for you and other users!
Based on the bad reviews, I almost didn’t get the app before my visit to the museum yesterday. It worked fine for me. I was using a cellular connection. I had only one small complaint. When touring the Andy Warhol exhibit, if you accidentally clicked on “next” before you wanted to, there wasn’t a “back” button. The Warhol section of the app was the same as the audio tour you could pay for at the museum for $7 ($4 for members).
I visited two years ago and I was impressed by how well the app worked and what it could do. When you entered a new room, new contented popped up on your screen. It had videos and interactive maps. Now it’s just a traditional audio guide, where you enter a number an listen to the audio clip. It works fine, but the app seems a bit dated and I can’t understand why SFMOMA had a great app and throw that away. Sad!
