App is great when it works, other than being a little unintuitive when trying to use it for HVAC. Unfortunately, it hangs several times a year, requiring you to completely delete, reload, and log into the app each time.

We had a professional install the RTI app and custom features on an iPad 5 years ago. Surprise surprise the app crashed and can’t be updated on this iPad. We installed the app on our phones, thinking (naively) that we’d be able to easily log in from there and resume having a a remote control for our TV. Surprise surprise the app is useless. It prompts for the IP address and once entered there is no functionality to move onto a next step log onto our system. Good Lord, do I need to spend another $300 to get the TV guy back just so I can have a functioning remote control for my TV?!?

Noted comments by others about how rti also loses connection to wifi frequently. The comments were 2 years old but I still see that regularly now on may 2024. Rti apparently has not addressed the underlying issues. I cannot rely on the rti app to work with any consistency, particularly when trying to control audio sources and speaker zones. A related issue is that rti’s website does not provide for any meaningful way to provide feedback to the company. The perception is that they do not want to hear criticism of which there would be plenty. I thoroughly regret going with rti and look forward to replacing it in the future. I would advise others looking at home and Av automation and control software to pass on rti and keep looking.
