Room Escape: Strange Case 3

In the spirit of Cube Escape or Rusty Lake, this series is similar in style a vibe but has more of a linear approach. Puzzles span multiple layers, with innovative methods of play and to move the game along. And it took time putting some of the puzzle layers together. Without hints, I made it through in a few days playing for an hour or so at a time. So I feel like the game play was long. For those who go leaping for hints or a walkthrough, you may find it shorter. I’ve played all three installments and each was better than the previous - but all are good. Well done! Hoping for more.

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel like this app deserves the credit. I really do enjoy playing the game, the puzzles are great and the game is fun! What got me to write this review however, is the fact that the game is 100% free. Sometimes when you pass levels it shows a pop up screen where it prompts you to give the developer money in a funny way but it also gives you the option to watch an AD to continue playing for free which I really appreciate. Great game and this also goes for the whole series.

I love the plot to the game, and the daemon is silly. I just wish it had more interactions with the detective. It feels like that part of the plot could be expanded on more rather than just having small instances of it in the game, especially since it is such an important character. As for the puzzles, I had a lot of trouble with playing the craps minigame because I had no idea what craps even was. A basic tutorial of the game itself would have definitely made it less frustrating for me to complete. The way hints work can definitely be improved on, as it’s more of telling you the answer rather than guiding you. Some text could probably help, maybe detective notes? Tldr: great game. I was very happy when it came out, but there is room to improve ❤️
