This game is definitely fun and addicting, but it’s frustrating how many upgrades you have to do just to pass a level. A lot times you will work hard to upgrade multiple things, and when you go back to play the level, it still won’t let you pass. I played one so many times and didn’t even miss a note after upgrading 3 different costly things, and it failed me by probably 3 or 4 points. And if you don’t make any in app purchases, there is an ad literally after every “show”. Good way to pass the time, but definitely frustrating.
Soon as you are 49/50, and on the last one of the recording studios, it don't let you pass it, even with 2 fully upgraded guitars, it puts a score so high, that even the best Pedals, and so forth, it's made sure you can not beat it. This is a fun game, very addicting, but to make it more successful, lower a little bit of the expected scores, even with all notes hit, you can't get past the score there. Also would be great if you could pick some of your own music, it would make it a lot more challenging as well, and also to compete with others on line, letting them pick a song, or you. Also adding some more graphics, giving more stars then a couple a week, also more money, since that's all we do is spend money to upgrade the guitars, or buying drums, bass, amps, as well as band members etc...
Truly one of the few great guitar games for iOS. Perfect for those short moments of down time during your day. My only cons are that: 1- When you select a guitar from the shop, it would be cool to hear the differences among them. While the graded bars (that I'm assuming work on a scale 1-10; they're not labeled you just notice changes in length of the bar between the guitar selections) are a good starting point, it would be nice to actually hear the difference between a hypothetical guitar rated at 5 and a hypothetical guitar rated at 8. This same idea could also be implemented while upgrading your gear. For example, changing your pickups are probably the fastest way to change the sound of your guitar. So while scrolling through the inventory to upgrading them, it would be nice to have those sound samples. I understand that's a lot more programming and it would most likely be a much larger file size to work with, which is a hassle, but it would make this already great game exponentially more immersive. 2- Song diversity and note timing. It's painfully obvious that you're change riffs from actual songs just enough to keep you out of a lawsuit. Nothing wrong with that, it's what I would do too. However, this makes the game a little unpolished. I find myself hitting all the notes but I'm hitting them just to finish the gig. Not because I want to play the song. I know that if I don't hit the notes I lose, and so I just keep hitting them until it's over. The main issue at fault for that is the fact that you don't feel as though you're connected to what you're playing. If you hit them everything's fine, if you don't hit them it'll just get quiet; no string squeal or feedback noise when missing a note like in some other similar games. The notes you're hitting don't seem to correspond to the song you're trying to play. still a fantastic game though and I highly recommend it. Shows huge potential.
