I wouldn’t have lost the weight if I wasn’t on Reset. I actually lost 14lbs at the two month mark but I am stuck there. I’m doing Reset 3 days a week and most of the recipes are delicious and pretty easy to make. I started working out 3 days a week about 5 weeks ago on my non-Reset days and I think part of the reason my weight lost has stalled is that I’m now starting to building muscle. And I’m pretty hungry on those workout days. I still eat pretty well but I do eat larger portions on workout days, that’s for sure. I like it, it’s a healthy diet, it’s easy, the app is awesome and I’m confident that I’ll start losing weight again at some point. I think since it’s a fairly slow process it will probably help keep the weight off and hopefully not return. The good news I’m only 7lbs from my target. I’m 67 years old and I feel really good so that’s also a plus. My wife shops, fixes the meals and has also lost 10 lbs. That’s a benefit we didn’t count on. If you did the diet, eating the recipes you would certainly be healthier even if you didn’t lose weight but I’m sure you will. Good luck!
I’m completely disappointed with this program. I was intrigued by the habits and mindfulness aspect, and while I’ve been practicing certain techniques on my own, I was hoping a program could help. But you can’t review habits they give you, so I find them useless. And there wasn’t anything new for two weeks after the initial habits so there wasn’t anything to continue helping me along. I will admit that I haven’t used the coach feature, but I didn’t feel engaged enough to reach out to one or thought that they could actually help or improve my experience. If in the description it included how calorie restrictive it was on the reset days, I would have never joined. I was given 800 calories per day. No matter how much protein I eat, I’m hungry during periods throughout the day. And I refuse to starve my body, even for two days a week. I have no problem sticking to the foods recommended for reset days, but I haven’t been able to keep to 800 calories. So I found the description of the program misleading. The app is amateurish compared to other diet apps. It’s not engaging at all. I don’t like how you can’t add multiple items to a meal (like if I add a fruit to breakfast or lunch so I know how many calories I’ve eaten). I find the recipes lacking, especially the vegetarian ones. The serving sizes are also confusing. Many are 2, 3 or 4 servings and then don’t tell you what the serving size is which is unhelpful. I haven’t lost weight since starting the program. I absolutely wasted my money.
I know it’s early and that there are many ways I can sabotage myself but I really do like the concept of the reset days. I have opted for 3. They are very doable using my own food or the recipes they give. Counting only calories and protein mss as Kens it super simple and when I enter the data it will let me know if it’s a food I should go easy on because it’s not the best way to use my caloric intake for the day. I love the simplicity of it and I love that the rest of the days I just have to be mindful and responsible. Yes that’s true of every day of my life and every freaking diet I have ever been on but this feels different. I am so sick of counting points or complex nutritional data that doesn’t really help me in the real world …or eating prepackaged foods that isn’t sustainable for a way of life. I, like most everybody who needs to lose weight, knows what I should eat and what isn’t healthy for me but with every other diet I have ever been on the preoccupation with food and getting it right it just messes with my mind. This is different and I like it so far. The freedom of the other four days be on the reset days puts me on my honor to do it and it doesn’t confined me to some arbitrary rules of some non-sustainable diet. I know that doesn’t likely make a lot of sense but in my mind I feel like I have the freedom of choice and that allows me to make better choicesThe reason I gave it four points instead of five is because I am only a week and a half and and because of little things like the barcode scanner hasn’t worked for me and I wish I had more of those little articles to read in Habits.
