Relief Ruler

As a relief teacher who uses these type of apps to connect with a number of schools, I find this to be clumsy in that it is only used to notify of the job. Some schools I am registered with use another app so I need to access and update my availability across the apps easily when booked at another school to maintain a professional appearance. This app requires me to go through around 5 or more steps including leaving the app to go the website to update availability. If this was available to do within the app it would be more efficient and save valuable time in that rush time when a job comes through in the mornings.

The “fastest finger first” functionality of Relief Ruler is unfair and humiliating. Relief Ruler staff have not answered my specific complaints about the app. In my opinion schools that allow staff to use Relief Ruler’s “automatic” selection function do not care about TRT mental health. I have also been logged out of the app after tapping on the push notification. I have encountered “something has gone wrong” errors when trying to log back in. This lack of functionality has meant I have missed several days work. Relief Ruler has attempted to indemnify themselves against any problems that their app causes relief teachers. Relief Ruler’s legal disclaimer speaks volumes about the “teams’” contemptuous attitude toward “users”.

Not only is it extremely difficult to get jobs because of reasons already written about in other reviews, but the app also logs out when the session expires? There is no warning for this or no option to log in again before your session expires. I lost a job because of this feature. Honestly this entire system is flawed. It may be great for schools to use but for the actual teachers having to use it, its extremely difficult and disappointing. There should be an easier way for this to benefit both parties without teachers having to suffer the consequences.
