I have always been so intimidated by tonal languages. This app makes me feel like I can learn Loa. I liked all the visual and auditory mapping. It’s a robust learning process that breaks the language into bite sized fun! So excited to keep going! Hope you get the chance to try it out :) Glad I came across this App as well as the story and honorable purpose behind it! I did some super sleuthing, and found out a little more about the developer of the App. If you’re interested, it turns out the creator is a teenager who built this app to make sure kids across Loa who might not have access to school or a teacher had a way to learn how to read and write Loa. There’s a reason this app is free. It’s to make sure that anyone who wants to learn Loa can! Talk about AWESOME!
I had a great time learning Laotian. So few options but this one really works!
As I was traveling through Laos for the first time I fell in love with the people, the food and especially the language. I immediately looked at how to engage with the language more and found there was a lack of options online. I was excited when I stumbled upon Read Lao! It’s not only interactive, but simple to use, to navigate and really supports a beginner student. I’m looking forward to diving more into the app and broadening my skills daily.
