Overall, I think this is a good app, but thereโs one slightly bad thing. I know this isnโt the intended use of the app, but I use it to keep track of families in books, and I find the limit of four parents per person annoying. For example, in the inheritance games, someone technically has 6 parents (T), his biological grandmother faked her pregnancy because her daughter was pregnant and they didnโt want anyone to find out, then T got adopted and raised by another family so he has 6 parents. Also, in the folk of air series (this is going to sound crazy), the female protagonist (Jude Duarte) saw her parents get murdered by (M) when she was 7, then she and her sisters got kidnapped by M. I know the second one is capable of showing on here, but I think there should be a way to show if someone is adopted or biologically related to another person.
First off- this is a great app! I use it for making fictional characters and studying their genetics. The appโs name fits, as it is very quick. The inputs are simple and easy to learn, and the option wheel is satisfying to use. However, there are some things that make me doubt this app, and have caused me to research other ones. By nature, humans are visual learners. The app could really benefit from adding the option of linking extra pictures, other than the main face one. Also, I have noticed that whatever I put in the image blurs. I have to zoom in on the characterโs face so that it doesnโt blur, but then I canโt show a full body drawing like I would prefer. I have resorted to linking the extra images onto another website, which is very inconvenient and time-wasting. I also have trouble with finding different family lines, which are usually closed off to save space. Because of this, I cannot directly see a characterโs aunt or cousin. It would be nice to have a on/off switch of having desaturated and faded markers of where these hidden characters might be, and how to see them. Finally, not all characters made live on earth. Many of my characters do not use our calendar system, and this limits how I can customize them. Also, for some reason, I can only put the year of birth as 1582 or 2025. Overall, this is a great app, and I believe that it will keep improving.
I've been using this family history tracking app for over a year and a half, but I've encountered some issues. The main problem is that whenever I try to update a family member's profile, any information I had entered about their date of death, including the month and year, disappears. This forces me to retype all that death detail data, which is a real hassle. To prevent losing that critical information, I now have to maintain a duplicate record of each family member's date of death in a separate app. As for potential improvements, I think adding an obituary feature and a timeline to record important life events like marriages, births, birth location residences, death, and death location would be very helpful. Additionally, a section to visualize connections and relations between family members would be a valuable addition. Overall, I find the app quite useful, but a few updates could really enhance its functionality and make it even better for tracking my family's history.
