This is the second year I tried to use the app. The instructions could be a bit more clear. For example they want to see the hologram on the card and strange lines come up on the screen. I actually did not know what it meant. Move card up ? Down ? Plus the app is in German and didn’t allow me to easily pick a different language (English ). After I used the app it said it did NOT accept my mother’s California issued ID card which she got from The DMV and it has a hologram. I tried two times and it told me the ID was not approved. I do not know why a state approved card is not acceptable. I just looked up my review from last year and the same problem exists. Her ID card issued by California has a hologram. Your system says accepts state issued ID cards so why are you not accepting ID cards issued by California Department of Motor Vehicles? We use these to fly! FIX your app. There are 40 million people who live in California.

Had to go through an identification for the ING bank in Germany. My call (on a working day) was answered in a matter of seconds and the very friendly and professional (English-speaking) agent completed the process in a few minutes. For me it’s important to conduct my businesses in the INTERNATIONAL language of English even if I live temporarily in Germany and Germans frowned upon if you don’t speak their language… Thus the complete 5 *.

I am very pleased that the process of PostIdent is now way faster than it used to be. All together it used to take hours of my time to print, sign, take everything to the post office and wait in the queue. I am, however, disappointed about the unnecessary manual work I now have to do with all this. The app asks me to take a photo of the front and back side of my ID. It then guides me through the process of manually typing everything on my ID into the app. What is the point of taking the photo if everything has to be entered manually. Photos are again taken during the actual identification process which is understandable. So, please use the processing power of modern phones and automatically read all the data from the protons I’ve taken. Just let me check if everything was read correctly. The person I talked to asked me to do so anyway at the end of the process. There‘s definitely room for improvement.
