Plant Identifier - PlantMe

I tried out the free week subscription and checked the box for opting out of automatic renewal. I tried it for a week. It worked well, but not well enough for the price of $8/week when I was mainly using it for hiking once a week. I thought I canceled my subscription 3 times and yet was still getting charged months after. I obviously have a problem with this because 1. I never intended to sign up for a subscription. 2. You can’t cancel in app, you have to go to you Apple subscriptions in settings (not intuitive/first subscription that I didn’t even want) and 3. Now my account won’t allow me to download anything else because i finally figured out how to cancel and it’s after the $8 charge that made me realize they were still stealing my money. For $8 a week I want the exact plant I’m looking up to show up no maybes or close guesses. Exact plant. Update since developer response: they never addressed my main concern. I opted out and attempted to cancel multiple times. Why was I still being charged and why wasn’t it as easy to revoke my money as it was to sign it up? Other users are leaving similar reviews. This is not on the consumer, but the developers. If multiple people are upset about your application ripping them off, figure out how to stop. The service is not worth it. This customer service was patronizing. Not in this economy.

The fee that they charge is per week when it should be per month if even not annually. It automatically starts charging you at the end of the free trial, which is of course a shady business practice, but they will justify it saying many companies partaking this behavior. Aside from it, not being worth the money, and the arguably, unethical way they go about automatically charging you after the trial, the application was in accurate on about 30% of what we attempted to identify. It was wrong about 100% of the time when we just took pictures of tree bark to identify the tree without leaves and branches in the photo. From a distance of about 10 to 15 feet away. It would often give us a variety of descriptions for a tree that were in accurate. We did enjoy the layout and the additional information about the plant as far as perennial and annual and water needs and if it’s toxic but other than that I’m sure there are more cost-effective if not even free apps out there that may even be more accurate

If I could give zero I would. Maybe this is for you if you have plants and like taking extra care of them but don’t have the time to Google or look elsewhere. Plus You’ll pay $8 a week… I would never pay that I would never even accept that offer so the fact that I just got charged that for a subscription I tried for free and said I wanted to end like two months ago at least is beyond me. I don’t understand why I just got charged now. Just a heads up guys, I don’t think any plant app or reallly any others for that matter is worth $8 each week!
