PizzaExpress™

This app is not intuitive. The 4 times I’ve used this app I’ve had problems. On a few occasions, despite my booking a table beforehand, it didn’t recognise my location when I went to check in. I was advised by the restaurant manager that I should login to the Pizza Express WiFi, which I’m reluctant to do as it poses a security risk, being a public WiFi. One occasion I tried to check in whilst in the restaurant but it kept checking me in to another pizzeria. Just used the app now and my lovely waitress explained that I needed to place my order with her first and then I could pick up my bill and discount offer’s subsequently. It’s disappointing that I’ve needed the help of Pizza Express staff each time I used the app. I’m not the only person as people behind me today also needed help with the app. Surely this app can work better than this. It’s a waste of your resources and is so blooming confusing to your customers. Or perhaps, the app needs a better explanation as to how it works.

cant fault the functionality of the app. works great and the offers are excellent too. My main issue with pizza express app is the rewards system. Not only does it take forever to achieve a bronze/silver/gold reward, but also the reward itself is awful. gold gets you a free hot drink or pizza upgrade? compared to other restaurants the top tier gets you a free meal or at least a free main not a petty upgrade. i have been scanning the pizzas you cook at home and one slice per pizza its not worth doing. You should consider improving the rewards or at least make them easier to achieve. Silver gets you a free soft drink? come on that costs hardly anything for the restaurant But ultimately i love pizza express and the app its just this needs revising!

My son and daughter-in-law treated me to lunch in your restaurant near the High Street today (hard to find because of all the scaffolding) and what a joy it was. First of all, the waitress (I’m sure there’s a more up-to-date term nowadays) set the tone. She was an utter delight and made us feel that we really mattered to her. I’m well into my 70s now and she was so good at helping me find what I needed on my phone in order to get our discount, without making me feel I was a bothersome old biddy. Her name is Shonagh, and If you’re lucky she may serve you when you visit. My pizza when it arrived was possibly the best I’ve tasted in my entire life, and I’ve visited Italy many, many times. The base was so thin and crisp at the edges and the topping was perfect - so very tasty. I know where I’ll be going for something to eat next time I’m in Edinburgh! Fabulous 👍👍👍
