Pixlr AI Photo & Video Editor

I’ve been using Pixlr for over 10 years as my go-to photo editing app to create wallpapers, edit my photography, and much more. Pixlr has changed a lot in that span, with many new features added, and I applaud the team for their efforts to expand and improve the app they’ve created. I always especially loved the ample creative freedom the app provided, even for free users. Although there were always features stuck behind a paywall, I felt that I still had far more creative control than on any other “free” photo editing app, and Pixlr provided many unique features that I could not find elsewhere. The NEW “3 free saves a day” is beyond disappointing, and an indication of what this app is to become. It is nothing more than an unnecessary cash grab designed only to stifle the creative process for people like me who cannot afford the insane $6 per WEEK subscription. Unless this feature is removed, which I doubt will happen, I will be forced to take my editing elsewhere for good. I understand the need for marketing a premium platform, but making the app actively hostile for free users is not the way to go about it, especially by restricting something so trivial as saves, which had been unlimited until now. As if the worst thing a free user could do is use your app too much. I also understand that this is the norm with AI photo software, but for standard overlay, text editing, and color correction? It’s just dirty. I fear the free experience will only get worse, and I am truly sad to go. I really hope you will reconsider this feature, and in turn, I will reconsider my review.

*EDIT* I am currently very disleased with the level of customer service I am receiving, so I dropped my review to 1 star as the product is decent, but the customer service is severely lacking. I have been emailing monthly since November 19, asking them to please return the names of the “Effects” as the business I work for used specific ones to ensure the quality and clearity of the images we produce for our customers. It has steadily degressed from “we have a team working on it, “ to “you’re the only one with a complaint,” to now “we’ve taken your complaint into consideration.” This is not a satisfactory response. I cannot imagine how my company would have any customers if we treated ours as poorly as I have been in this situation. Especially since the owners of Pixlr have been made well aware that their product is being used by a fellow business. *Original review: I have used this for years for work with Rindle Waves Soundwave Art. For the last 4 years I have been able to save images as JPEG files that were smaller so I was able to save space on my iPad as well as send multiple images to our customers. With the most recent update, all of my images save as large PNG images that take up a lot of space and renders me unable to send the images to our customers without altering the file type in another app. I also cannot find a way to change this within Pixlr’s app. Please fix this issue. And please stop changing things that work. This has gotten ridiculous.

I have created amazing images using Pixlr, so beautiful, that many people are now asking to purchase them. I would like to commend its developers for coming up with such a great App. With just a few changes, it would be A+++++. 1. Stickers. OMG! Listen.....with such great aesthetics going on in the filters and the effects, why would you include stickers that look like they were made for kids, or adults who behave like kids??? They don’t AT ALL seem like they are even part of the App at all! It’s like they migrated in through the back door from a nearby sandbox! They are cartoons. Please, please...give us some which match the sophistication of the App, that would elevate the look of the photo, rather than throwing Big Macs on it. A hint....design stickers which look like part of the art work, instead of fighting it— i.e., smudges, scrapes, liquids, nature— Impressionistic style.... 2. You affixed a price to some of the better Effects. Fair enough. But often you need to try out several before you settle on the right look. How about you let the use experiment with a few and then charge him/her right before they save it? You’re tchies— you can figure this out. 3. Small Things— too many “droplet” shaped effects.....way too many in the rain-spattered pattern. Other than these points, the App is very good...very. Keep up the good work, make my changes, and it will award winning! Thank you and good luck.
