Pi-hole Remote

Update 2: Version 7 is prettier, faster, and more integrated than ever! This really is the best possible Pi-hole experience as a Mac/iOS user. If you run Pi-hole, buying this app should just be considered part of the set up or expected user process and experience. Just get this app, really, you’ll love it! Update: The app has now released a few fixes and things are working again more or less as expected. There are still bouts of slowness but it is, for the most part, nice and snappy again. Also, the "restore purchase" form when it was a one-time-purchase works again so that’s great! All in all, it seems to be well on its way back to being a daily-use app! --------- This used to be a fantastic app. I’m not sure how much of it is the dev vs. Pi-Hole itself, but following the V6 upgrade this is barely usable. Getting it connected was difficult, but eventually I got there. It requires that you disable 2FA, which isn’t great, but ok. Even so, with just an HTTP connection and App-specific PW it connects and eventually pulls stats, but even the basics like queries, blocked, and block list will spin for over 10 minutes before getting the numbers. I’m not sure how the API can possibly be this slow, but it is. Definitely not paying for it until the app recovers.

I’ve been tinkering around with a Pi-hole setup, and I kept running into issues with using the web interface on mobile (sporadic Bad Request errors I couldn’t crush) so I decided to check the App Store and came across this infinitely useful Pi-hole Remote App. I didn’t even hesitate purchasing it, it’s well worth the asking price. The UI itself is hands down one of the cleanest I have ever experienced for a technical utility app. It’s easy to navigate and all the critical metrics and statistics information is cleanly and clearly presented and organized. It’s a lot more reliable than using the web interface on mobile and tons of customization and configuration options to tweak to your liking. It’s a highly intuitive layout. I have no problems whatsoever supporting indie devs that make quality apps such as this. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to future updates!
