Let me start by saying that we do love this app and the toothbrushes that go with it. My kids love their little sparkly monsters and it has helped my 5 year old with learning to brush her own teeth. It has also helped us as parents to do a better job when brushing. However, if you need to use the manual timer the “presents” given at completion of brushing are very inconsistent. Sometimes the kids get them and sometimes they don’t. It also did not sync across multiple devices well, for example it would be nice if we could be logged into the same account across different devices so my kid didn’t always need my phone, they could use a grandparent’s or dad’s or their own device. Another thing that has really only started lately is that the app glitches while the kids are brushing using the Bluetooth connection. It freezes but the timer keeps going, and if you close out and open it again the child doesn’t get their “present”. It’s really hard to use an app that is so inconsistent when children are the target audience. How do I use the “presents” as motivation for my two year old to have her teeth brushed when she only gets the reward Some of the time? We have been using this app for almost 2 years and it has been this finicky the whole time. I would hope that by now they would have done some updates to fix these bugs.
I would love to give this app a 5 star review, however, its inability to sync across multiple devices is a major flaw. We have the app on each of our phones (we parents) and 1 tablet because our daughter LOVES brushing with this app! She is always excited and makes it a big reveal to see what new present het Sparkly got today! However- it’s impossible as busy parents to have her brush with the same phone/tablet every time. When she brushes with one and not the other two, she doesn’t get credits and it ruins her ‘brushing streak’ and impacts the presents her Sparkly gets. Then she gets upset. So now, every night she brushes with one she didn’t brush with the night before, we have to go in the parent dashboard and manually give her credit. It’s incredibly frustrating. And I can’t even imagine if I was a parent trying to share custody across two households, or had more than one child I was needing to brush teeth at same time, what a nightmare. This could be sooooo incredible. But the lack of syncing is ridiculous and believe me if my daughter didn’t love it so much (and it does do what it claims for her- her teeth brushing has improved a TON), we’d have given up on it. Come on Sonicare, you have to know this is not really sustainably functional for most families without the ability to sync a profile across devices?!
This app is amazing! The tooth brushes that Phillips Sonicare for kids makes are so affective!!! I used to hate brushing my teeth so much. But now, brushing my teeth is like playing as many video games as you want! I brush three times a day, and I used to brush about twice a week! My teeth were descusting. But now, they are as white as snow! The sparklys ( an adorable character you help hatch it out of its egg) are so creative and cute! I love feeding and brushing my sparkly so much. But, I have a problem. So this goes to a whole different story, and it’s long, but hang in there. So I got a Phillips sonicare kids toothbrush one night. My brother did too. We got the app, and brushed right away. We loved it, and my brother got clothes and dens the next day. I was so jelly, because I apparently hadn’t unlocked all that yet. I told my mom, and she told me she would call them, so she did. Then the next day I saw my brother go to his achievements and he had achievements, which I hadn’t unlocked either. I was like, how did you- WHAT?!? And he has his sparkly achievements too! I really want this stuff. My mom told me I’ll probably end up with a new toothbrush, which is fine with me, cause I don’t think my toothbrush is all too happy about the first time I used it and how dirty my teeth were lol. Anyway, please fix this problem! Thank you!
