Philips Avent Baby Monitor+

This app is phenomenal….when it works. No matter how many times I restart the camera, the connection is inevitably lost at least once per day and I can’t see my baby from my phone. The cry translation? Incredibly helpful and often reliable…when it works. I’d recommend this system to anyone who doesn’t mind having to restart it over and over again for it to function properly for a short period of time. Update: there was recently a firmware update, and it needs additional work. It notifies me at least 5xs per night that my baby is active/awake…and she will be asleep! Facing the camera clearly, eyes closed, body spread out and obviously asleep. So not only is the notification flat out wrong, it will sound at midnight…2 am…3:30 am…4:56 am…all times that I, the sleepy parent, would like to sleep restfully without being awoken repeatedly for no real reason. Please fix this update so the detection works properly and accurately again. ☹️😖

Let me start by saying I LOVE this monitor! The picture quality is impressive, I love the zoom feature which was so helpful at the beginning so I could see with my own eyes that my baby was breathing. I also love it has an app for your phone and you can even invite guests to view your baby. Super helpful when my mother stays over to help. Though the price is a little high I think it’s worth it. I’m fortunate enough to be an employee for Philips and did get a little bit of a discount, but I would have paid full price if it. Totally worth it. That being said, I feel like the cry translation was not really accurate with my baby. The concept is cool, but I just didn’t find it worth subscribing for it after the free trial. If you do want to keep using it, it’s really inexpensive so if it works for your baby go for it.

Wow I just switched from Nanit to the Philips Avant and am already impressed. The app is easy to use, has everything you need and doesn’t soak you to buy some premium users every time you open it up. You can add more users from your profile via “Admins” (they have to register first). Wished I had found this sooner.
