At this point, I am so dissatisfied, I can barely find the enthusiasm to write a review that adequately describes how painful this experience has been. This app is going to be many young people’s first experience with hidden fees. It would actually be cheaper for me to walk into the mint, buy some gold using a debit card and sell it there when I’m ready. If you have any intention of collecting your gold, please remember, you pay a fee to buy the unallocated gold, you pay a fee to sell the unallocated gold and you pay a fee to for mintage and collection of your gold (none of these charged in store). If you just want to trade within the app, you still pay a buy and sell fee and the gold prices are only slightly cheaper than buying and selling physical bullion at the mint (which has no buy and sell fee, the app is more expensive overall still). Oh and they make you send them a bank statement before you can withdraw your funds from the app. If this app was not government owned, you would think it is a scam trying to prevent you from realising you can never withdraw your money.
Not everyone can afford Gold in big quantities. If this app is all about creating a possibility to buy gold from $1, I think it’s not enough. You can buy portion of shares, crypto currencies and many other things these days for as little as $1 but none of them really have any intrinsic value (I know lot of people say this is debatable), you can’t redeem those investments in a physical form. However precious metals can be redeemed but not everyone can invest big, let’s say teenagers invest $50 in gold, how can they redeem $50 worth of gold? If you want new savvy investors and millennials to take this app to stratosphere, add SILVER! Because it’s affordable and and turns spenders to savers! Rather than having an avocado on toast with coffee at cafes for $30 they will start buying an ounce of silver. I have nothing against avo toast! I love it too! I will change my rating to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ when I see silver on this app, other wise it’s a dud
Up until this app GoldPass, I never bothered with gold trading as it required a more complex way of obtaining and purchasing it! However buying Gold has never been easier and I’m a massive fan. As an Australian resident it was important that this Gold was being held in a physical location that I know and trust and I have massive confidence in now diversifying my investment portfolio with precious metal Gold! My only gripe is the change in the UI I like seeing the transferred AUD as a graphic and found this unique, I would also like to see live spot price on gold holdings, the only way to check this is go into trade which then is another step if your not intending to trade!
