Mix control feature is nice but I swear it will just forget when I set the song to stop playing and transition into the next one. It will just keep playing to the end sometimes. It won’t show as locked purple on the player, but still shows as set in the mix control. Also for whatever reason, skipping past your set mix control in the player ui over rides it. Which is dumb, I set it in the CONTROL panel why is me panning through the song over riding it. I’ve had to reset them a bunch of times because of this. Also why not make the mix control the one thing in the player ui that looks like a mix control button. I’d rather have easier access to that than putting it deeper in settings. Opposed to making it the 50% or 100% adjust which I’d have to set less frequently.
As a DJ myself, I was intrigued by this product. I wanted to see how well it could work. So, I tested it out with a variety of genres you’d hear at a club, like house, techno, rap, funky house, pop, dubstep, and more. I found that instead of being a traditional DJ, it seems more like a crossfader that tries to find the right time in the song to transition and forces two songs to transition together, which can sometimes feel unnatural. Like most DJing, it works best with lots of drums because it can easily find a pattern and mix it. But the vocals often feel like they’re clashing, which is a big no-no in DJing. I think it works well in some transitions, but not so much in others. I understand that it’s still in its early stages, so I can forgive these flaws. Also, for consumers, don’t expect the app to offer any kind of advanced DJing features like beat loops, filters, or padfx. The best way I can describe this app is like an AI image generator. It does the job, but often looks fake, with spelling errors and too much drama. Overall I think this app is very cool and I will checking on the app in the future but right now it’s not ready. I will say the app layout is INCREDIBLE and the colors and layout are great :). I do wish there was a EQ area in the app because the music feels a bit flat.
This concept is fantastic, it plays the strong parts of your dance tracks and does a pretty good job of mixing genres depending on your pre planned playlist. However, it crashes on my iPhone 12 and iPad quite a bit I’d say every 20 min it will crash and hopefully the developers will fix this. On my iPhone 7, it lasted 7 min before crashing on Wifi. I can actually see someone using this to DJ with this in 5 years maybe but the crashes would wreck your career for sure. The layout color is nice but way too confusing for how simple it could be ( can’t tell what is a clickable button and what isn’t and back screen is confusing to figure out, also it could use a dark mode. I love this app, when it works, but I refuse to pay a regular monthly fee when they would be better off with a one time higher fee. I’d pay that but not for any app that crashes as much as this does. Offer a one time fee and I’ll wait for it to get better through updates. For now, the subscription is too high for how often it crashes. Update- I have a iPad 9 & iPhone 12 that uses the app and after several updates, it’s is much more stable. The only thing that would make this app perfect is if it has one time fee instead of the monthly/yearly pay option.
