Set up is terrible. I have to enter everything if anything goes wrong during the setup process. There are no keyboard memory items (eg address) so I am entering my address each time, everything about the thermostat each time, etc. The scroll wheels work sometimes and not others, so I have to select wrong things before I can select right things. This company needs to hire a decent app developer. A 15 year old who likes programming could do better this because the app interface is fundamentally very simple.
Like many users I’ve experienced hundreds of apps but I’ve never used an app so poorly thought out and so poorly implemented. I’m attempting to set a schedule. First it assumes that you get up in the morning, you leave the house and you go to bed. It doesn’t consider that some people work night shifts and want the floor to be heated at opposite times if day. Or at least that’s all I can assume when I try to set “I get up at 10PM”. All I get is an error when I attempt to save that time. And yes, I am not setting a time later than the time I go to bed. What a nightmare. I’ve also noticed that there is no developer feedback or response to the many negative reviews. That suggest that the manufacturer doesn’t care. Given this I advised my electrician to not recommend nor install this product. Someone at Strata Heat needs to wake up and read the reviews and then fix this miserable app.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to re-join my home network, but even though it says the connection is successful, it’s not. The current temperature (outside) no longer shows, and the app no longer connects to the thermostat. After putting in the password, there’s no way to go back to the Home Screen, except via the back button, which probably undoes all the password info. The whole app is really hard to navigate, and on the iPad, can only be viewed in portrait mode. Very annoying, since I use a keyboard, and can’t use that with this app.
