How am I supposed to pay before evening trying the app or knowing what is in it and how it works?

My son has speech delay and we have been using makaton since he was tiny. I’ve not had any training on it and was looking for an app to support us both going forward. I downloaded this as it says it’s created alongside the makaton charity, created an account and then added my child. Then I was told I had to pay £7.99 a month. I do not have £7.99 a month spare for an app! I want to support my child as best I can and I’m unable to do it because there’s no free version. A 7 day trial is unhelpful…

I tried this app to replace one which I’d previously paid a set amount for. The one I was replacing had a library of makaton symbols all shown with an accompanying video. I was forced to replace this app as one day it was just gone from the App Store! This new one may have more symbols but they’re useless to me without a video showing how to them. At £7.99 a month for use of the app, I’d expect it to have videos on every sign. It’s too much money to charge. This is a language which people would learn to support those unfortunate enough to Have to use it. It’s rotten to charge money when it stands in the way of someone’s communication.
