This app is decent and for most things it will get you close to where you need to be. There are a few little things that are annoying. This could also be user error so take it how you want. When placing the starting point for an arrow your level of precision is limited to the size of your finger. Your can fine tune the end point with a little blown up bubble but not the starting point which is odd. Also the zoom function is only half zoom. I say this because at many points when entering a set reference measurement on a line it zooms in almost 2 or 3 time more than the max zoom from the regular zoom function. These are two very basic functions in my opinion and how the were implemented here is why i didn’t go any further in order to review anything more
I purchased the app a while ago and now they want to have me pay a subscription. They’re haven’t been any improvements so it feels a bit unfair. It’s super annoying that anytime you try and do anything on the app it immediately sends you to a pay wall.
I’m leaving this review for 2 reasons. 1. The free trial does not give enough features to determine if the app is worth purchasing. 2. The attitude in the description that says “don’t leave a 1 star review.” Here’s the deal. I’m a developer so I get how much work goes into developing apps and believe me, I also want to be paid for my work. That’s not the issue. The whole point of having a free version of your app is to entice people to purchase the full version. You can’t entice them if all you’re giving them to evaluate is basically taking a picture and storing it in a library and looking at a few samples of what can be done. I can’t determine from just those things if the product will work for my needs. Therefore, I won’t spend the money on the full version. If you want to encourage purchase you’ll have to give a basic feature like measuring a room. Then you can say “my app does 5 more things that are really cool, buy it!” The primary reason I need a tool like this is to measure a room. How can I tell if that actually works if I can’t try it out. There are better ways to do this. How about allowing a short trial period with more features? How about allowing users to measure a single room and store it? I’ll be HAPPY TO GIVE YOU MY MONEY IF I KNOW IT WORKS!!! Now, the attitude. Not purchasing from someone who states that they have to pay their developers. This isn’t my problem. It’s yours. If your product doesn’t work, and there’s nothing in the free version that tells me it does, I’m not buying it even if a thousand people worked on it and need to be paid.
Making paper sketches of objects can be a tedious job. You have to draw the object, add dimensions and make sure others will understand what you meant...
