Out of all the hurricane apps Iโve used, this app is one of the best hurricane apps Iโve ever used. This helped me track Ian, Helene, and Milton. Whatโs even better is that you can look at past hurricanes to see how far away they were from you. For example, I never knew that Hurricane Irma was 4.4 miles away from me. Pretty interesting stuff. Heck, Iโm considering on upgrading this app (Purchasing the Pro version). Absolutely worth downloading if you donโt have cable to track the storms. Whereโs 10/5 stars when I need it?
I've got or have tried so many other weather apps and storm trackers, but This app is hands down the best hurricane tracker available for Apple devices! And it's FREE! Here's why... EASY TO USE AND CLEAN LAYOUT So easy to use and understand that even I can use every feature with my severe case of Attention Deficit Disorder (I'm not kidding). Very clean and clear layout of information, Map, Cone, Satellite, Models and news. MAP - The map is awesome!!! It uses the 3D Apple Map image with point by point locations of the storm's path from beginning to it's predicted end. Use the forward or backward arrows or Press on any point of the storm's path and you get information of it's location (coordinates and miles away) at the time, forward speed and pressure. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS - Immediate notifications alerts and updates to my iPhone. Times of notifications match the time of information released from the National Hurricane Center. I'm getting notifications almost ONE HOUR FASTER than Accuweather (ranked #3)!!! This is very important. Especially when the Hurricane I'm currently tracking is intensifying rapidly. It was upgraded to a Category 4 from a Cat 1 in less than 12 hours. I'm currently watching Hurricane Delta as it's predicted to hit Louisiana. I'm still recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. This app is now my go to source for Hurricane and Tornado watches. It proudly sits on my phone's home page. I will purchase the Ad removal just to support it. The ads are just a small banner on the bottom of the screen that doesn't interfere with anything. But this developer deserves to be supported for his great work and will hopefully help him keep this valuable tool updated for many years to come. Thank you ๐๐ผ
This is my first time using any app to access continental US severe weather warnings and watches in one place. I may seem excited, and I am a little bit giddy. Itโs like getting a new toy. So bear with me as I extol the virtues of the app as a noob to weather stuff. This app is much easier to read (font size) than using an iPhone 6 web browser to view SPC, NOAA or NWS websites for first-hand info. I like being able to see the continental US radar view. I know little about forecasting, but I know enough to recognize that this app includes visual tools that forecasters use to discuss weather. It has it allโor almost all. I might need a different app for winter weather season. I donโt know enough about weather to know if I am missing out on satellite imagery showing my location in the Midwest. The app does give continental US and regional stills from Tropical Tidbits: wind, barometric pressure lines, and other nifty weather nerd graphics. Since I donโt do forecasting, stills are just fine, even if it would be cool to play around with model future progressions. I do get what I wanted, after all: current severe and life-threatening tornado warnings and watches with radar progression images. Maybe Iโll even become a hurricane weather enthusiast, too.
