Munbyn Print

I don’t write reviews often. When I first downloaded this about a year it felt very limited and I adopted to use libre office on my computer.(still great for bulk labels and copying data from places) but after an update I’ve been using the app more and more. A couple examples are that It now supports generating QR codes and barcodes right in the app and it’s not bloated. Recently some ai stuff was added that I probably won’t use but I’ve recently used to it to just create a barcode because it’s makes real ones that don’t have a stupid hidden url shortener. It had a large collection of templates. It lets you save stickers you have created or printed before. One “ai” thing I do use it the background remover tool. This app is useful, intuitive, and not confusing to navigate. It’s good. - a satisfied P130B owner

The Nelko/Polono app gets worse with each update, not better. And the Nelko printers only work with branded labels. Switched to Munbyn to use any brand label. The app is also 90% better. Can’t figure out how to create custom label sizes and the help isn’t very helpful. Also don’t know if I can buy another printer and connect to either. I want to keep shipping labels on one and creative labels on the other. Nelko does support that. Also, limited to only loading images from my iPhone gallery and not from my Downloads folder. And finally, after signing up for my Munbyn account on my phone, I can’t access the web site.

The machine is great, have no problems with it but that’s not why I’m taking the time to write this. The app is just plain awful. There is no real ‘save as’ function. Have fun either creating new labels from scratch, or use this weird thing where you copy an existing label and are immediately prompted to give it a name. Ok, no problem, except don’t name it what you want the permanent name to be because the app won’t let you save it under that name once you’ve made your changes. Why do you not have the font names listed? Instead you have the same word for everything which makes it unnecessarily difficult to have things match across labels. Having a working save as function would help with this, but still wouldn’t address the root issue. Why can you not take the same label design and resize to fit a different sticker? That’s where the issue with the font names is coming from since I have to create multiple stickers from scratch. Why can you not group labels by user defined lists? Being able to group all “produce”, “candy”, etc and easily find what you’re looking for would make things better. Instead you have to scroll through a huge list. Layers in designing would make things easier. Instead you have to move things off the working area, eyeball the piece you need to adjust, then put the overlapping bit back over top and repeat. All in all, the app leaves a lot to be desired. Enough that despite liking the equipment I am shopping for another product because I hate the app so much. Especially since I have to use the app multiple times a week.
