First off I’ve been using this tracker for seven months. It is thorough and very customizable for your symptoms/duration/life impact. The yearly subscription is absolutely worth it as it adds pressure variation tracking (a big trigger for me). I highly recommend for anyone not knowledgeable of what your triggers are so you can compare trends. A note about the data collection: for the reports, I did some experimenting and the statistics given only reflect days you record something. So, if it says 20% lack of sleep as a trigger, it means 20% out of all the times a trigger is recorded. It looks like it dosent factor in the data if an option is not selected. (I have mitigated this by adding an “unknown” category to my triggers list). As for things I would love to see in the future: it would be useful to have an option to create a custom headache logging step. Also, a simple meal log might be useful for folks with food related migraines. It could be a separate log type to help discover correlation. Finally, it might be useful to add another type of pain scale: Mankoski Pain Scale. It is more based on impact than a relative number. You could probably do this just by using the 1-10 system, but it might skew your data if you already have lots of pain scale ratings logged.
I really like this app. I don’t normally write reviews but I felt compelled this time because I am really enjoying using this app daily and it helps me review what I’ve been going through during my neurologist appointments. My BIGGEST suggestion though is make the app more symptoms without headache pain friendly. If I record only the other symptoms associated with migraine but I do not identify any areas of my head for pain, At quick glance it still appears as a pain day. It makes it difficult to identify how many days during the month that I DON’T have pain when my neurologist asks me. So on days when my dizziness is so bad I can’t get up and walk without holding onto things, but I don’t have any headache pain, I either indicate the dizziness knowing it’s gonna show up on this app as if I had pain or I need to Ignore the day completely in order to have it pull up on the quick glance that was a day I didn’t have any pain. BUT then I have no other record of the other symptoms I was dealing with that day.
It is so user friendly and has more features than what I was expecting. I rarely call in sick or leave work early until recently. I never had headaches except when I had the flu etc. But about 4 months ago started having chronic migraines 3-4 days a week. And when I started leaving early or calling in, I knew I needed to see a doctor. The only thing missing from what I was looking for in an app is for it to track the number of days where I had to miss work due to the pain. My appt isn’t for another couple of months and I want to be able to show my doctor how much time off these have cost me. But…. I like this app so much I don’t want to try a different one. Fortunately I can put it in the notes section and track it that way. I’m just always looking for that easy button 😊
