I am utterly perplexed why Mercury tries to route customers toward this app when everything in it can be done better on the web. They’re going out of the way to incentivise it, and call me to emphasise this only for me to explain to the poor caller the app is worse than useless. The overall design philosophy seems to be as unhelpful as possible. The data isn’t even reliable now that I have solar since it doesn’t show anything other than zero when I’m putting power back on the grid. I happen to principally use an overseas app store, and the fact that Mercury forces customers to spend an hour or so signing in and out to get this from the NZ app store means is one of the best correlates with a terrible user experience. Some might think this doesn’t matter, but how can a good company fail to imagine its customers from NZ travel a bit or came from overseas. (Hint: the census says over a quarter of NZers were born overseas.) I’ve never had a worse experience bringing this up with app support, either. The response was simply rude. The only upside of downloading the app is that it forcefully confirmed Mercury has gone so far off track (I was with TrustPower, which seemed ok) that I need to get my utilities from a different company.
Combination of new app and house move the app seems to no longer work functionally. Frequently having to update - log back in - not be able to view bills - no longer getting updates on points available to earn. Feeling a bit cheated after a year of GREAT to then re-sign with Mercury as lived the benefits and now not being able to make use of them?! Have deleted and reloaded app and still rubbish experience???
Hi there, I found the recent update quite uncomfortable to use. The previous version of an app was simple and easy to navigate, charts and challenges that are easy to access. I found the current design unresponsive and difficult to navigate. I can’t get access to the weekly reward challenges, the pages look like the web-browser versions, and when I click the links nothing is happening e.g. downloading power bill. Therefore I have to open a web browser and check there, so it causes the frustration of having a mobile app. Is it a temporary version of the app? The version of app from 2-3 weeks ago was very good, comfortable to use, it was pretty and it was intuitive to use. Thank you
