Luna Band and Ring: LifeOS

My main reason for purchasing this ring was that it didn’t require a subscription for the app. It also syncs with my cycle tracker. I feel the readings are accurate as they usually line up with those of my Apple Watch Ultra. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that in the beginning, I was having constant issues with it connecting to my phone and syncing with the charger. I contacted Luna and they were very helpful with a solution. Since the most recent update, I have had no issues with the ring and I am very happy with it!

It took months of back and forth emails and ultimately the issue was only resolved through support on instagram. I’m adding a star back for the only person who was helpful in finally getting me my product. However, I’m still really disappointed and I really wish the team valued and heard their customers. The look and fit of the Luna ring is great. But other than a piece of really expensive jewelry, it fails to deliver in terms of any real health tracking. In fact, most of the stats are completely useless. I’ve laid around all morning and already hit my active calories with an optimal rating by 11 am. Seriously? What’s the point in having a rating when it’s met every day just by doing the bare minimum to survive? The exercises available to track are so limited and unable to be edited. I walked 5km at a pace of 7kmph and it only showed as 2,000 steps? We should be able to input data if it isn’t able to be measured. Not all walks are created equal. Calories and steps are highly inconsistent. I end up defaulting to my Apple Watch which defeats the purpose of buying it entirely. It feels like this ring vastly overpromised and massively underdelivered.

Skip this, buy the Oura ring instead. The Luna ring has been full of problems. It is difficult to align on the charger, the battery indicator is not accurate, once the battery dies it is hard to reconnect with the app, there are problems with data syncing, and finally it just quit working. Tech support is under staffed with barely an attempt to follow up after multiple attempts for help. My ring hasn’t tracked data for a week and a half and haven’t gotten a resolution. I’ve reached out to their live chat, helpdesk, through facebook messenger, and direct email. It takes days to get a reply, I follow up with all the requested info, and still days later there is no acknowledgement. Update. They sent me a replacement ring. It won’t pair. I’ve reached out to live chat and tell them it won’t pair. They keep telling me to unpair the device. I can’t unpair what has never paired. So I have two Luna rings now that won’t pair. Since live chat only feeds me canned responses, I’ve reached out to the email contact given to me and haven’t had a reply. I’m about to quit complaining and give up on this product. It has never once been able to accurately monitor my basal temperature and predict cycles just fyi. That’s with a year of wearing the first generation ring that worked intermittently. I don’t think it ever worked consistently enough to collect the data.
