Update: This is the best customer service experience. They replied my long email on sunday night! Really impressed! If you are thinking about starting doing yoga, but you don’t have enough time/motivation/possibility/money to go to studio, this app will definitely work for you. Moreover, sometimes it’s even better than a studio! It’s so well done - the voiceover person says just enough and is just encouraging enough without being an over the top “online fitness coach” type. The videos are simple and easy to follow, but the voice is also enough to guide you through the movements without having to look at the screen. There are several playlists and they are really well composed, it’s modern music that fits my taste and is not distracting (I hate for example songs with lyrics as it’s extremely distracting and some other apps didn’t pay attention to that detail). The flexibility to choose between a ton of different time lengths, types of practice and levels is amazing and in contrast to some “compose your own class” apps (usually these sequences turn out to be a bit... weird ) they are well thought and flows match the descriptions perfectly. Really, really great and I’ve done a lot of online workouts .. this is the closest thing to an actual yoga class that I’ve found. Btw I love the latest update. User experience is much better than before. New classes are better than previous ones. New teachers seem really experienced.
Recently I’m in a place without any yoga community so I tried out several yoga apps. This one is simple and elegant, and with a focus on improving your practice. Never boring and easy to grow your skill. I feel it’s really aimed at people who really want to practice yoga as an integral part of wellness, instead of just another type of superficial workout. The guiding voice is so soothing and I keep it on to take advantage of the timely reminders to self-correct. The videos are good quality and show the transitions between the poses clearly. And, required for me, you can download sequences to use offline. It is not overwhelming with unnecessary bells and whistles. The app is a delight for beginners as well and is a great introduction (or re-introduction) for those who may not have recently been on the mat. The latest update made the app even clearer and easier to use. I think that videos with different teachers, in different places brought a wind freshness. The one thing I could recommend may be adding some outdoor sessions. But overall, this has been the first yoga app I have stuck with since I’m not able to participate in regular yoga classes. Thank you!
Lotus Yoga is an awesome app for both first time and seasoned yogis! To start, the layout of this app is perfect, with visually pleasing text and colorful picture icons. Everything is easy to find and user friendly for navigation. The app’s yoga classes are separated into categories, ranging from the Fundamentals series to Yoga for Sports Performance. While for some of these categories you need the premium version of the app, it would definitely be worth it to have access to all of these classes! Something that I really enjoyed and found to be unique about this app is the way that the classes break down each pose. When you open a class on Lotus Yoga, before you hit play you can scroll down the list to see not only which poses will be worked on, but for how long. This is perfect for days when you want a great ab workout or days when you want to avoid doing planks entirely! To me, nothing is worse than thinking you’re going to love a yoga class only to find it’s filled with poses you aren’t too crazy about, and this app eliminates that problem entirely. There’s also a section of this app called Poses, where you can search each individual yoga post and read instructions on how to do the pose correctly, as well as the benefits and important warnings about the pose. Once I started looking into the poses on this app, I searched for almost an hour reading up on different poses ! It was so awesome. You can also sync this app with your calendar to to schedule your classes! Great for the organized yogi. This app is quickly becoming my favorite yoga app and I look forward to trying all of the classes they have to offer!
