It’s a neat idea but 4$ an hour price tag deters me from trying the experience when I can walk for free. Wanted to see if my dog would run along side the bike but $8 is more than minimum wage for an hour here so I think the price is barely affordable. I’m aware that this might not have anything to do with the Koloni app, but I’m not sure what the process is as the middle man for the bike share app and the company renting out bikes. I live in Crawford county so the price is high when minimum wage is standard as 7.50 some places, and I don’t think the CATA has rented out enough to make the venture successful. In fact they probably lost money on the venture. I hardly ever see anyone using the bikes but someone did steal a bike once, which they recouped, and the parts had been stolen before. I don’t understand how they are expensive bikes as they say as they look spindly and rather fragile. At 192lb I’m rather tentative to even try them. I may try them once time but I can’t see me paying the price to rent for two hours. And if there is a hold fee, where it charges a temporary hold, absolutely not. And there’s no way of knowing if they would charge one until you try and get the surprise hold charge taking away your ability to buy lunch that afternoon. I’d just rather not risk it.

I was trying to use a locker at a bar and this app was the only way to rent the locker. It collects all of your information and credit card first. Well the first three lockers I tried to scan weren’t recognized, so I should have heeded the red flags then. When I finally “successfully “ scanned a locker that was recognized, it started charging me for the rental, but the locker NEVER LOCKED. I spent 10 minutes turning my Bluetooth on and off, closing and reopening the app, and no success. I could not end the rental because it said that it would only end if it was locked, which obviously was the freaking problem. I had just gotten to the bar and was not drinking, only wanted a place to put my purse so I could dance with my friends. I went to get the security staff to help me, and they couldn’t figure it out. They asked their management for help, and they said that they had nothing to do with the lockers as they are run by the company and that I should call them. There is no number to call. I put in error reports but there was no immediate resolution. It is midday the next day and this rental is STILL open and charges are still growing on my card. Completely frustrating. Do not ever use this app.

Confused why i bought a membership but still have gotten charged both times I have used the bikes… isn’t that why I bought the membership ahead of time? Aside from that it’s really nice that they have so many hubs across our town to share these bikes and the trails all connect. I was nervous I would be too short for the bikes but they are the perfect height and have low bars so it’s easy to get on. I did notice I could get the gears to go up but not down so I ended up on 5 for the whole ride which made it difficult going uphill. Not sure if you’re able to test the bikes for this kind of thing before you start the rental…
