A little late to the party on the review but the 4th Kingdom Rush is still as fun as the others, this time with a new approach making it more challenging yet more customizable. Towers now are on a set path with no branching upgrades at the final tier but instead each are their own progression. Sounds weird but there are tons of towers (some now paid for but more on that later) you can choose from to really change up your approach to factions and environments as you see fit. They also added 5 slots for said towers giving you a decent trade off but again provides a constraint where not all towers are at your disposal. Paid towers as I mentioned before are a new option which puts a bad taste in my mouth personally, paving the way for more transactions if received positively. I’d like to see this option removed or tweaked to be cheaper. The towers are expensive and plentiful making most long for the awesome power they provide. Some of the towers don’t even really do much better but it’s still something that should be earned not bought. Final not and very personal is no enemy encyclopedia… of all the things to take away you took away the satisfaction of reading entries of enemies and unlocking all the mystery slots that kept me guessing what was next. This series means so much to me and change is good but why take away content or put it behind the paywall? Hero’s are one thing but towers is taking things far.
Dear ironhide I LOVEEEEEEE the kingdom rush franchise and have played it for as long as I can remember. I would just like to thank you for creating this awesome franchise I so dearly love. I have to admit kingdom rush vegance is probably my favorite one so far.(even though I would much rather play as a good guy rather than a villain) but despite my personal tastes I love it. Not only are the graphics better than the previous games but the game play is way less aggravating. The reason why it’s less aggravating is because of the fact that you no longer have to get three stars on every level for upgrades to your reinforcements, spells, and towers just to stay ahead of the curve in difficulty. I like the fact that you made a set number of upgrade points even if you only get one star on a level. But there are a few things I think you should add to the game. Unlike the last three games in the franchise there were no side quests after you beat the campaign not was their an endless mode. Because of the fact I beat the campaign today I was a little disheartened to see that their were no side quests or an endless mode. But please do not make the side quests extremely difficult to do like in the last three kingdom rush games because I am still trying to beat some of the side quests in kingdom rush:frontiers. Other than that keep doing what your doing ironhide!!!! P.S. KingdomRush:vengeance isn’t the end of the franchise is it!? Sincerely, Dylan Angelucci
Like many others that have played all of Ironhide’s games in the past, their games are awesome. They can be addicting at times, the art style is cool, the pop culture references are great, lots of replay ability ...etc make their games continually fun and top-notch amongst other Tower Defense games! Now for the VERY BAD review!!!! In all of Ironhide’s past games, $4.99 got you more then Kingdom Rush Vengeance has to offer and seeing that on day 1 for that reason I spent over $30 dollars buying all the Towers and all the Hero’s cause with all their other past games you got a “Horde/Endless Mode” which was well worth paying extra for everything in my opinion. I would spend countless hours playing “Horde/Endless Mode” seeing how many waves I could defeat, what different strategies I could use to beat my previous high score. That was the best part of their games, some even offered 2 Horde/Endless modes in the game and now they’re gone, nowhere to be seen!! They also put “Towers” behind a pay wall?!! You also pay $4.99 and you can’t even use all the upgrade options in the game with out you having to reset all your progress in order to choose other options. It’s a slap to the face with your money in their hands as they laugh at us with greed spewing out of all their orifices!! You’re not a triple-A studio Ironhide!! Total disappointment and disbelief in the direction this studio has gone!! All of you that gave this game 5-stars should be ashamed and embarrassed!!
