Crazy Defense Heroes: RPG TD

Tower defense is my favorite mobile game type and a I’ve played all of the major ones. This game had potential to be the best but it is plagued with several problems that make it unsuitable for serious consideration. Save your money and sanity … find a different game. The problem is game balance. Somewhere around player level 50, it becomes impossible to make progress in the ongoing campaign, even against “Easy” levels and even when our forces have substantially higher power than the enemy. You can try AoE towers, chain lightning, slow towers, rapid fire, poison, extra attacks, special defenders, etc and nothing helps. Nothing except (maybe?) buying and upgrading super rare 4* AoE cards. I’ve played daily for nearly a year and have only drawn 1 such card. But, by the rules of the game this card is sometimes disallowed and sometimes rebuffed. In essence, you need 6 to 8 of these. In essence, you have to buy these at great expense. VIP benefits are almost meaningless. Clan support is bad. Friending is meaningless. Money is the only way ahead. If you want a fun game for 3 months, go ahead and play. If you like a long term game you can play for a year or more, forget it. The devs do update the game regularly, but they don’t even have an in game mechanism for taking suggestions like these. They don’t care if players are having fun, just that they but the in game currency.

I’ve been a fan of tower defense games for a long time. I also enjoy collecting and upgrading. This game combines those two nicely. As with most collecting and upgrading games, it will be a bit of a grind, especially at higher levels. There are a lot of cards! So you will have to pick and choose which cards you want to upgrade. There are different events that come around regularly(both individual and group events). Some of these will restrict which cards you can use. I actually like this aspect as otherwise I would probably use the same set of cards every time. It makes me rethink my strategies and invest in different cards. It helps to know what to spend your crystals on as the drop rates in chests are pretty bad and you can disillusioned if you spend a bunch on them. That said, the occasional 4 star does pop up in free chests. If you know and accept it will be a grind, are able to find a decent clan to join, and enjoy this type of game, you will enjoy this game as it is probably the best of its genre.

I’ve been playing this game for several months and there is a power wall without highly upgraded 3 star towers. The cost for these have been ridiculous and only available rarely even then. The drop rate without buying is about one every 3-4 weeks. I have found just 4 of them in several months. They just offered a starter pack for $5 with a new VIP system that guarantees a 3 star tower. I got literally the worst possible tower (snow ball which was available as a reward earlier in the game for completing a special dungeon). It is completely useless - just like it was in Crazy Kings because the power spike demands AOE cards due to huge numbers of mobs on hard levels. Sure, maybe I was just unlucky but drop rate on needed materials like epic clovers are also ridiculous. You get one chance every four days to earn one by beating 4 maps and I just went 0-5 on those days over 3 weeks. I need 7 of those to upgrade my one really good tower and am completely stalled out until I get them. Even in a best case scenario, it will take a month to get them, but realistically, it’s more like 2-3 months of continuous play. Also, you need legendary materials to upgrade towers which are really difficult to find and the best way is to cash in your stamina by not playing via a scavenger system to get them. It is completely and utterly broken. What a waste of time. I will not spend another penny on this game.
