I’ve been using Kaymbu for a while now, and honestly, it has been a wonderful experience! The app has made documenting children’s learning and communicating with families so much easier. I love being able to capture photos, write observations, and share them with parents the same day in such an organized and engaging way. Families are always happy to see what their children are doing throughout the day, and it really helps strengthen the connection between home and school. Kaymbu is also very easy to use — from uploading observations to creating weekly reports, everything feels smooth and time-saving. I’ve been using Kaymbu for about 10 months in a Montessori toddler classroom, and overall it has been a valuable tool for documenting observations and engaging with families. Pros: The app makes it very easy to capture and organize photos, videos, and notes directly in the classroom. Portfolios and reports help me see children’s growth over time and make family communication smoother. The built-in assessment scales encourage me to broaden my perspective. While not always aligned with Montessori’s most common observations, they do push me to look at development across a wider range of areas. Having everything in one place (observations, family updates, assessments) saves time compared to juggling separate systems. Cons: Some of the rating scales don’t fully match what Montessori educators typically focus on. It would be helpful if gross motor and linguistic development were represented more strongly. The app can be glitchy at times, which slows down documentation in the moment. There is a bit of a learning curve to understanding and using the assessments in a way that feels natural for Montessori practice. Overall: Kaymbu has definitely helped me grow in how I think about and record classroom observations, even if it isn’t always a perfect fit for Montessori. While I’d love to see expanded options for gross motor and language skills, and some technical improvements, it’s been a useful tool for strengthening my documentation and communication with families.
