JBL Premium Audio

This is an absolute abortion of an app. I have JBL’s top receiver in their newest line and the app does almost nothing for it. I can’t even use it as a basic remote for basic functions. Just have ChatGPT write you a basic app for basic controls. If the interface of the os itself and the app don’t get a massive overhaul in the very near future I will absolutely be replacing JBL products in every manner and watch the company’s demise from afar.

Let me just start by saying this is the worst device app I’ve ever used. For a stereo receiver released in 2025 this is a very sad attempt. Even the app connectivity is terrible. The functions are few and far between. It’s hardly worth my time writing this review, and it’s unfortunate because I think the receiver is quite good and as good aesthetic. I just hope that somebody from JBL sees this and considers making a new app that works. Things that need fixed: you should be able to open the app and turn the receiver on remotely. I should be able to set up the receiver and view and change settings from the app. Additionally, I should be able to perform in depth receiver, set up such as room calibration settings, all from the app.

Just got my system set up and it seems once I downloaded this app and connected my new receiver that nothing wants to work! Have called support 4 times and only got one answer cause they have horrible hours and they didn’t even email me the firmware update I was told I was getting! Now I have over $2000 of equipment that can’t be used until I finally get the update! This is a joke!!!!
