CAR:GO - Anywhere!

I am female and used this app bc of everything we had read about unlicensed taxi scams in Belgrade and concerns about safety. And in fairness it seemed to work well enough - until it didn't. After a few successful rides with good drivers, we were picked up for what was supposed to be a 13-15 min drive to the Central Bus Station (4km but via a windy path). Our driver unnecessarily took us across the river and continued driving for a very extended period of time. Of course, being tourists, we did not know the way so at first we thought nothing but it was a very long drive and we were getting further and further into the suburbs and away from where one would expect there to be a central bus station so we checked Google and saw how far out of the way he had taken us. We were scared bc we weren't sure what was happening - if we were being kidnapped. We Googled the Serbian police emergency number so we had it ready to dial before we confronted the driver about where he was taking us. He pretended the address we put in was for the boonies but since we had Google maps open, we knew that was a lie and, thankfully, at that point he finally turned around. We missed our out of town bus bc of him. We reported this to Car Go within the hour, complete with screenshots of the route we were supposed to have taken and the far longer and completely incorrect route we did take, and heard absolutely nothing back. It's been 10 days since our report and still nothing. So it's clear this company doesn't actually care about taking any steps to ensure safety or accuracy, only collecting fees and taking a chance that bad things don't happen to riders.

I am a big fan of the app. I use it on a daly basis. My expirience is great in every way possible. However I have one, “not that great” thing to mention and address to developers. Because updates are happening often, it is not that usefull that I need to have the latest update od the app every time I want to use it. Let’s say I am out and need a quick transport, my battery is low and internet connection is poor. The way it is now, I could’t count on CarGo service in that case. I would like to see this fixed. For a month now my carGo application isn't working, i cant order a ride, when i start searching it immediately stops and reports that this service isn't available right now. Also new payments aren't possible. As i said this i ongoing for a month now, my money is locked in the app, i have written to them two times and haven't received any answer, again i repeat paid for credit in this app and i cannot use it. Not answering is unbelievably unprofessional from them and a behavior which is similar to regular cabs from which they say they better. Because of this, first ill probably start legal actions to get back my money, second to any foreigner that wants to get cab in serbia, because of the above things better just use regular cabs, at least there isn't chance that your money will be stuck in the application and unusable(we can pretty much say stolen). Im from Belgrade and it seems i must continue to wait for a proper cab service in belgrade, regular cabs are so expensive, car go isn't working and have zero customer support, hope for a new third option.
