I did not expect a japanese app to perfectly translate my english to japanese! It is also helpful, for example you can copy down the japanese chatacters on a piece of paper and learn with the app! You can also impress everyone knowing japanese! I use this app all the time to “refresh” my japanese knowledge. It also works as a pocket translator (if your using a phone or small device). Overall if you want a cool japanese translator this one is right for the job.
This is an amazing app for translating Japanese to English. I stay with in-laws in Japan and when I need to say something beyond my Japanese language abilities, I type in anything I want to say and it translates beautifully. Its true that is the written translation includes kanji and may not be easy for beginners to read, but playing back the audio for any Japanese speaker works great!! And the ability to use off-line is fantastic. Super helpful for my home life with in-laws and travels around Japan!!!
When translating from English to a language that does not use the standard alphabet letterings, don’t just translate to that non standard alphabet lettering. For example: I want to translate a word like “diabetes” from English to Japanese. I input the word “diabetes” and up comes the Japanese kanji for diabetes, which I cannot read and pronounce if I cannot read it! Include the Japanese word for “diabetes” written in the lettering that the person using the app. For example: I am imputing the word “diabetes” in English. Then add a phonetically correct Japanese translation of the word “diabetes” in standard alphabet lettering, along with what is already included. “Tonobyo” along with the kanji character. If this option is already available, then where is it? Make it available or apparent so that I don’t write reviews like this one.
