What a scam, TD! My phone lit up with a call during driving and it recorded it as phone use. The program says that I had rapid acceleration. How do you want me to merge on a highway where people are going upwards of 120 kmph with a short entrance runway? The worst part is that you only have 6 days to remove trips where you were not the driver. After that, it records it as your trip. Even if you set alarms to remind yourself, you will still have to deal with an app that takes forever to load the trips like it’s 1967! I have 0.5 out of 5.0 on one trip thanks to my Uber driver. The program does not recognize when a trip starts and when it ends. It merges various trips into one. Sometimes it does not record the whole trip, just takes a part of it. It is very obvious that many people will see their auto premiums skyrocket after this abomination was released by TD Scam Trust. TD joins the list of vulture auto insurance companies. Seriously, who approved it? TD wants you to drive like a grandma, even if you end up causing accidents. No worry, they will pay for it.
It seems that mechanism and logic of driver behaviour estimation got better, but feature of driver distraction works absolutely incorrectly, when I use my phone on the parking, or at gas stations to pay for the gas it treats it as usage during driving. I guess it shouldn’t be a problem to take the car speed and location into consideration , and make exclusions for parking slots and gas stations. Or better track end of the trip and treat them as separate trips after couple minutes stop.
The new TD My Advantage application is able to tell if you’re using your phone or not while your driving which is fine. However it fails to determine whether you are in a drive thru or parked in a parking lot and uses that against you, saying it’s distracted driving, bringing your overall score down. This is resulting in false scores and affecting discount rates. The app should be able to determine if you’re stationary or not. This should be evaluated immediately.
