I’ve been using this app for 3 years since I got my Fitbit and was looking for a way to sync its data to apple health. It was like $5 when I got it, but for syncing all the data, it was worth it. It still had annoying snags like having to reopen and manually sync its data almost every day despite advertising background refresh syncing (that basically never worked) and required a fresh login to my Fitbit account every month, but for the one time purchase, it got the job done. However, without notice a month ago, the app updated and suddenly operates on a subscription basis to continue syncing the same stats that I already paid for with none of the old annoyances being fixed. I’m terribly disappointed in this change and truly, as someone that doesn’t leave reviews for anything, I wish I could give 0 stars for the frustration this has caused without a comparable backup yet. Shame on the developers.
I previously purchased this app as a one-time purchase and have been happily been using it to sync my FitBit scale to Health every few days. At some point, the app switched to a subscription model with a one-time payment option. I only realized this when I went to sync my data as I always had only to be prompted to purchase the app again or sign up for a subscription. I have no interest in starting a subscription for an app I already paid for. I had reached out to the dev twice via email and did not hear back. I reported the app to Apple as fraudulent as you cannot charge users again for functionality which was already paid for. Notability realized this and changed their app. These devs would be wise to do the same and adjust their app to recognize previous purchases and do better at monitoring their support inbox.
I needed this kind of app to import all weight data from my Fitbit dashboard (it holds 8 years of my weight records) to display all of that in an another weight recording app, “Humming”. Humming allowed only Health app. I didn’t wanted to type in all my weight (&body fat %) each by each (because it’s 8 years of records!!). After I installed this app, I hit “Sync Now” button shown at top page, then I refreshed Humming app. That displayed all the data in a second. This already saved me a lot if time. $5 is cheaper for several days of my free times to work on if I would do it. Thanks.
