> Update - Now that you changed to Dark Sky and “streamlined” the app, my previous critique isn’t relevant since the Apple Watch component has been discontinued. I’m disappointed and now reflect that with 3 stars instead of 5. < Like many people, I’m always on the lookout for THE weather app. I keep coming back to BeWeather for the clean, accurate and attractive presentation with everything I need to know at a glance. One suggestion I’d like to make regarding the Apple Watch display...my display on modular is good with present conditions summary, temperature and high/low for the day. The display also includes humidity which is what I wouldn’t prefer. A replacement idea, which would be more helpful, would be a chance of precipitation graphic...please. Otherwise- excellent app!
I’ve used Be Weather since way back when it was on BlackBerry. This latest iOS v3 update doesn’t offer much in improvements and actually make several things worse. The detailed forecast (beyond hi, low, and precip chance) should have been expanded; instead it was removed completely. This alone may cause me to get a different app. I need more info than a quick view look provides. The new layout of the hi and low temps with bars that are uneven makes reading things more difficult and is completely unnecessary. If these changes are not addressed soon I will likely delete (despite paying for the app three different times on different platforms in the last few years) and look elsewhere.
The switch to DarkSky weather provider was expected sooner or later since WU is retiring the service. BeWeather always had the most accurate data from all my weather apps, including Dark Sky. But changing weather provider from Weather Underground to Dark Sky means that now you potentially have 2 or more weather apps giving you the same data. So BeWeather has to find a way to “BeDifferent” from Dark Sky, Carrot, and all the other weather apps that use the same service. Unfortunately, for all of us, it looks like they started on the wrong foot since the Apple Watch complication it’s no longer available because the app has been “streamlined”. Also all the custom icons are gone. I hope that this removal is temporary and that we see the watch complication again sooner than later.
BeWeather is the most comprehensive and personal weather app and widget for iPhone and iPad. All using the familiar weather interface you have always...
