It’s my go to gun app. One feature that I would like to see is the ability to add an individual alert to an item that is going to be ending soon and place my own alert timer on it. For example.. i have lots of items in my watchlist, but i don’t really want alerts on all of them. I would like to set an individual alert like maybe 5 or 10 minutes before the auction ends. I think it could help people engage with the app more as well.... Also, I would like to be able to view negative feedback only rather than have to scroll through each review one by one to view negative remarks. Thanks
The Safari web browser does a better job remembering my account logon status (session/state cookie). The app is better with flipping thru listing images. When I get an alert from the app it opens then backgrounds due to failure to open and pass the alert message to the app for instructions (eg show a watched listing). This can be worked around by first opening the app then select the notification. Gunbroker is aware of the login state issue and is not concerned with any increased functionality or basic usability. This is my first ever non positive review of an app, I usually just am not concerned with poor apps, I just figured it was time to state the obvious that this app could easily be improved but as stated in an email there are no plans for improvement. The constant login and failed notification center actions are two core components that would set the app apart from your mobile website. If it were not for the poor image browsing interface on your website I wouldn’t bother with the app. Maybe just work on the mobile website image display user interface (the swiping effect which is poorly executed and can take 3-5 swipes per image to progress).
The GB app is only good for casual browsing; keeping an eye on a single item; placing a single bid. The search function doesn't let you narrow by caliber, make, model, etc. and if you click away from the immediate search results to something like your profile or watched items, you lose your search entirely and have to start over. Seller details & info don't display as well as on the website (all the subheadings like "Additional Terms of Sale" and "Item Characteristics" are removed) Comparing the website to the app... on the app: there's no way to effectively manage / change saved searches; no way to refine searches; no way to make payment; no way to view/ manage multiple item bids simultaneously; no way to mark "payment sent" "FFL sent" etc....and if there is a way to leave seller / buyer feedback on the app, it's not at all intuitive... AND most importantly of all — the push notifications are DELAYED. If you get outbid in the last 15 minutes of the auction, you may not receive a notification until the after the auction is complete...which forces you to set a separate alarm on your phone to check your "bidding on" item manually when the auction end is near. Speaking of...a real-time auction countdown clock would be ++useful. Currently, you have to keep pulling down on the app to refresh.
