The app doesn’t allow you to control your charging in any way, or even to monitor it accurately because it very often doesn’t know whether the car is charging or not. It might say that it’s working to start the charge when the charge is scheduled to start many hours later. Also, if you use the “More”” less” commands by text, you will still have to do that, because there are no controls in the app. Also, the percent of time spent “Smart charging“ is not accurate. My car has been Smart charging for 100% of the last seven days, and it reads as 70% in the app. When I look at the details of certain charging sessions in thy app they are broken up into many segments, some of them overlapping in time, some of which are labeled, smart charging, and some of which are not. Literally the only thing this app does is make me paranoid that I’m not gonna get my rebates from the utility for no reason.
I am currently cancelling WeaveGrid through my electric company in Arizona (SRP) because of how constraining and problematic and unhelpful the system and app are. You can only select a “departure” time or there is an option to only charge during lowest cost times, but in my case charging has only started when I manually told the app to start a charging session, making the schedule useless. You can’t ask it to charge, say, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM. And there is no way to override the system once in it. I tried charging directly through the ChargePoint app, and it failed, indicating it could not initiate a charge. Also, while technically not an app issue, getting any assistance with a charging problem can only seem to be done via email and in my case it took several days to get a response. So it feels like they are both understaffed and have not worked out all kinds of kinks. The promotion for using WeaveGrid made it look promising, but in real world usage, for me at least, it’s been kind of a headache. Ah well….😞
Great improvement. Much easier to use than the website and I can get notifications instead of texts 👍
