I thought at first that the app doesn't display fountains at all -- you might have to exit it and go back into it after zooming into the location. Some locations, such as my city, don't show any fountains (though maybe there are none in my city in the first place?), but the coverage is good enough that, if you really need water and are willing to go to a usually nearby city by car or foot, you probably can find it. I cannot give any of the blame for low coverage to the developer though, as the data only comes from the free reporters to OpenStreetMap and from other sources for specific countries (not applicable to mine). The UI is nice and usable!
