Love these workouts! Been doing them for 8-9months. I am excited about my coach and the anticipation of new workouts every week tailored to my fitness level. Sometimes they seem a little advanced until I complete them and realize how fit I am becoming. The more advanced movements are the goal. I am so excited for the day I can master "muscle ups and handstand pushups." Its all possible through doing these workouts and getting the endurance and strength necessary. The six pack thing is great to for those genetically predisposed for that. But I like how they make me feel most of all amd try not to get caught up in the vanity part. The app does seem to always be getting better and improving its already great product which is awesome. If I could make one suggestion it would be to link the running and strength App with the social network that is built into the body weight app. Thats all.
I’ve used this app for almost a year to complete at-home workouts, with and without minor equipment. You can choose different fitness ‘journeys’ to go on, depending on your goals. I did 12 weeks of a hybrid muscle/cardio journey twice, and 12 weeks of strength building once. In the hybrid workouts, there are a great number of high intensity workouts that incorporate plyometrics into shorter workouts; These workouts I loved. I looked forward to working out, even if the workouts do lean heavily on burpees, which never became fun. For the strength-focused journey, the workout guides you through weight lifting repetitions. In between sets, the app has you wait up to 3 minutes to start your next set. I found this entirely too long and would often find myself scrolling through the workout, trying to finish up in 30-40 minutes what the app would have you take 60 minutes to do with the extended wait time between sets. The other critique I have is on the flow. For each workout, there’s a warmup and cool down. It is best to do all the laying movements, then move into sitting exercises, then standing, etc. Instead, this app will have you sitting to do glute bridges one minute, standing to do arm windmills the next, then back on your back for leg raises. A more thoughtful flow would have been appreciated.
Love this app—I’m on my third “training journey” since January, and it keeps me motivated and makes it easy to work out without having to think about it. The training journeys do a good job of mixing up the exercises and keeping it challenging, while also alternating workout intensity pretty well, which I appreciate. I would love to be able to mark favorite exercises and also mark exercises I never want (there are some that aggravate an old wrist injury, and when I get them as part of a training program workout, there’s no option to simply swap out or modify a specific exercise—I have to request a completely new workout). Easy to work around, but it would be a nice feature. Also would love to be able to give feedback on specific exercises when needed—sometimes I can do 3 out of 4 exercises perfectly, but I have to mark the entire workout as “It was too much” in order to give accurate feedback on that one exercise. And one other suggestion: a little more celebration and more comprehensive stats when you complete a training journey! I’ve been sticking to my workouts and improving for 12 weeks—give me more than a single screen with a few random stats! Pretty sure I’ve done approximately 8 million burpees and would love some proof of that. 🙃
