CSFloat

The app is cool i haven’t had any problems depositing, or trading skins. The optimization of the app itself is extremely bad tho. Once you spend a few minutes and make a few searches it tends to freeze on the current screen or get stuck. Meaning you can’t select “but now”, you can’t add to watchlist, etc; you’re stuck scrolling whatever you searched. This has happened on multiple occasions and it’s also quite frequent. Besides that, when the app works it is usually just fine and everything is perfect.

Don’t have any experience with other sites because I am vary wary of which sites I allow to connect to be Steam profile. That being said, in the past 6 months I’ve sold over $700 in skins, and I really can’t think of a reason to go to another site. Pros: - Negotiation tool lets you haggle prices without text chat, so no bickering or hateful messages, just bartering - Selling process is secure in terms of protecting against scams. The only way you can get scammed is if one of your profiles are compromised AND you don’t follow the instructions to check for this, and those pop up every single transaction. - Fees are super reasonable and the site is very upfront about them - Withdrawing is thru Stripe and again, very reasonable fees and fast turnaround time. - for selling, the overall process from sign up to money in my bank is straightforward and for me took ~24 hours. Cons: mobile app sign in doesn’t redirect to the web browser, it pulls up the page directly within the app. This is very odd and I haven’t seen this for any app of any kind that requires the linking of a 3rd party account. I wouldn’t have trusted this app because of this single factor if I hadn’t previously used it on desktop where I was able to verify it was the actual steam portal and not a fake page meant to steal your info. - Never fully trust any 3rd party sites, even this one. While I have had a positive experience, that doesn’t mean this site or any other one isn’t still abusing their access to your Steam info

Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy CSFloat; it’s my go-to marketplace for CS2 items. That said, the desktop version is the only one worth using for actual reading purposes, especially as a seller. The biggest reason why the app is essentially worthless for traders with any liquid items is because you can’t send trades using it if you have Family View enabled on Steam. I utilize this feature because it requires a four-digit PIN to access important things, such as my inventory. It is one more layer of security against scammers, hackers, and phishers. And yet, CSFloat’s app requires that I have this feature disabled if I want to send a trade. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to lower my account’s level of security for a mobile app when the desktop website works flawlessly and safely. That alone was enough to make me uninstall. Also, you have to input your login credentials for Steam directly into the app, which is something I avoid like the plague. On desktop, you can sign-in to the steamcommunity website, then easily sign-in to marketplaces like Float with one press of a button. This ensures that your credentials are only ever input into Steam’s official website. For those who don’t know, it is common for scam sites to request all of your login credentials, and the steamcommunity method protects against this. I’m not indicating that this is a scam, far from it, but in a community so diluted with bad actors, it’s not something I’m going to chance. I appreciate the work the CSFloat devs have done and will continue to support them and use their website on desktop, but these glaring security concerns make it impossible for me to recommend the app to any serious traders.
