Awesome game. Been playing for months. Weird bugs started about a week ago. My drones all have extreme knock back effect and they keep hitting enemies into me and is the reason I can’t pass any levels currently. Also any time I switch out one of my three liverys the old one stays permanently activated. Which is awesome, but makes it extremely hard to see anything around the center of the screen. Developer has been pretty quick about fixing bugs in the past and hopefully this is resolved shortly. Game is addictive in a good time killing way.
My initial thoughts on the game were that it was pretty decent. As I continued to play I’ve realized there are so many issues and minor annoyances that the game is just not enjoyable to play. Firstly, I got an S Grade equipment were its perk was penetrate +1 but made me do 30% less damage. That’s a huge amount of damage to subtract especially if I’m getting a high tier equipment. Also, the negative damage percentage annoys me because the game just doesn’t give me damage upgrades on my main weapon. I’ll go 15 rounds of upgrades with no damage increase on the machine gun. Also, the machine gun has a radius, which is understandable but when enemies enter into the radius, it doesn’t shoot all the time. It will creep halfway to me and then fire. Lastly, each skill seems to have a specialty (light damage, vulnerability damage, fire and so on) and it seems that each enemy has a certain weakness but there is no breakdown on what perks don’t do well or do, do well against certain types of enemies so you’re just flying blind the whole game hoping you’re choosing the right perks. You can also apparently combine certain perks together to create a “super perk” but there is no breakdown on that either or any real explanation guide anywhere. It kinda just pops up once and then that’s it. The game does have potential but I don’t feel like grinding the same level 100 times just to get enough gold or “cards” for upgrades just to increase my base damage to where you can be victorious. There just isn’t enough explanation or in game guides to break down anything for you and they need it desperately.
At the start, this game is really solid. It’s a simple, addictive and satisfying formula that had me coming back whenever I had a few idle minutes here and there. However, the further I get into this game’s progression the less satisfying it is to play. One annoying detail that is that The game does not introduce new enemy types despite them just being simple shapes. Once you beat the first few levels, you will have seen every basically enemy type this game has throw it you. From there, the game just keeps throwing the same enemies at you but upping their stats, making for a very unsatisfying experience when the same blue squares you were obliterating in the first levels are now the insurmountable challenge confronting you several stages later. It really makes it feel like you’re getting nowhere. However, the most frustrating element of the game scaling has to be the wave based survival challenge. The difficulty of this challenge scales with your power level. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but the scaling is so strong that as I have progressed through the game and gotten better gear, the challenge has become basically unplayable. The furthest I ever got in that challenge was wave 12 and that was the first time I ever played it when all of my equipment was unleveled. Now, with several hours in the game and much higher rated gear, the challenge is so overtuned I struggle to get to wave 4. It’s just incredibly unsatisfying and I don’t imagine I’ll continue to come back to this game if the progression continues to spiral downward.
