Thank you to the developers for a high-quality app, & to the staff in our district for taking the time to incorporate the new technology to make it work! I am the mother of 2 kids with developmental conditions. Our family has been using the new version of the app for a week & have already found it smooth, intuitive to use, precise with ability to fine-tune notification settings, & accurate with real-time information. Mornings are hectic for all 3 of us, & will only become more so, once the winter weather sets in. Having a better idea of when my kids’ buses will arrive allows us all to make the best use of our time. My younger son benefits from the alerts & real-time GPS tracker as he gains independence in managing his time. My older child especially needs predictability, and being able to watch the bus approach on the GPS map with me cuts down on his anxiety while waiting for the bus. My older child also cannot disembark without an adult at the stop, & I’ve shared the app & alerts with others involved in my kids’ care, making it easier to recruit help/respite when I need one of them to meet the bus. As wonderful as our local dispatch office has been when I’ve had to call about a bus ETA, I hope this gives them a well-deserved reprieve with fewer calls, as well.

I like that I can set up 3 distance notifications to alert me when my student’s bus is getting close to the stop. It’s a really helpful feature and will especially be helpful once the weather gets cold!

There is no way to view the estimated arrival time for the bus anymore. The information given seems more appropriate for the district, not a parent, as it tracks the number of stops the bus makes and the start/end time of the driver’s route, all of which is meaningless to me. I’d like to know when the bus is coming, which the old app was able to predict. Now it just shows where it is on the route, which is not helpful especially considering our bus makes a circle around a few streets before it comes to us, so we cannot tell at a glance if it is heading for us or if it’s doing the circle portion of the route down the side streets near us. Also, I set up distance notifications for my son’s bus but not for my daughter (different bus for middle school). Yet it still sends push notifications for both buses, that they’ve arrived to school etc. I don’t care that her bus has arrived to school because we drive her every morning! There seems to be no way to turn off those notifications. Really terrible app all around.
