I have tried a few apps like this and they all focus on removing screen time for apps or setting limits that you breeze past once alerted. Naze forces you to state your intention before opening the app and categorize things as “I’m just scrolling” or “I’m replying to a message”. Only counting scrolling as a distraction, state your intention I front, and then setting how long you want to use the app to complete that intention provide a much more rich and nuanced approach to not breezing past limit alerts and actually reducing screen time. The developer is also really great and open to feedback. Love the app and highly recommend.

This app has helped me tremendously with cutting down on screen time. What sets this app apart from other screen time apps is that you have to choose a reason for why you are opening the app, and have to hold down the button for a few seconds. This feature forces you to be intentional with your time. I only have the free version which allows you to block only one app but I only need it for one app so it works out for me. The data reports are also super helpful. UI/UX in the app is simple, straightforward and well done, the designer did a great job.

Naze has been invaluable in aiding me to reduce the amount of time i spend doom scrolling through all these apps that feed on your time and attention. I have become untethered from my device and able to do more. I think the greatest feature of the app has to be the developers. I made a suggestion on how to improve the app and within a week i was contacted by one of them that they would be adding the feature i suggested. Truly an amazing app
