i love this app!! super helpful and has cut my screen time down from 4hrs to 28 minutes. it hasn’t been long using this app but i can tell it’ll make a difference. one big thing though that i think makes this not a perfect app for me is the fact that it also blocks notifications. i think it would be great to have a toggle slide to be able to switch on or off notifications while the app is locked. i don’t want to miss important messages, so i find myself unlocking the app just to check, which i think can be made more efficient. overall great app,SO much more effective than any other app i’ve used. when i had an issue with the app i reached out to the developer and he was very helpful
This isn’t hyperbole, it’s made a huge impact on how I use my phone mindfully. I’ve tried maybe a half dozen other apps that purport to do the same thing, but the ease of use and simplicity of Naze beats them all. I had one weird problem on setup where it couldn’t find one app I wanted to lock; the selection screen would “hang” in a loading state. I found that the workaround was to use the search bar with voice text to search for the app. The developer is incredibly responsive and open to suggestions. (And it is a little weird that you message a guy directly instead of going thru a form - I assumed it was going to be an AI bot tbh. But no, it’s a real person who is genuinely interested in how to make the app better). There are a couple features that I think could make it even better - suggested activities when your time is up, more data - but even as it is I think it’s the strongest time management app on the field and 100% worth the subscription. So grateful this exists!
I have tried a few apps like this and they all focus on removing screen time for apps or setting limits that you breeze past once alerted. Naze forces you to state your intention before opening the app and categorize things as “I’m just scrolling” or “I’m replying to a message”. Only counting scrolling as a distraction, state your intention I front, and then setting how long you want to use the app to complete that intention provide a much more rich and nuanced approach to not breezing past limit alerts and actually reducing screen time. The developer is also really great and open to feedback. Love the app and highly recommend.
