This is yet another AI Chat bot but the addition with having a visual character to look at when conversing with. The model is nice but is limited to two poses and that all for the positives. The negatives are large and plentiful. First off, no retrying a prompt. There will be moments when the character will act completely out of character and you may want to refresh the response to fix it… but that isn’t available. You get what you get. Leading to situations where the experience is already scuffed. Second, sooo many features are locked behind a paywall, including DELETING YOUR PROGRESS WITH A CHARACTER!!! Meaning if your character acts all out of control or a miss input prompt occurs , THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT. There is soooo many AI Chat bot competitors that have this very basic feature that OtherHalf AI lacks. It led to all the characters I talked to, to be completely ruined with no way to fix them unless I drop cash to delete the character. But any other Chat bot, you can delete with ease and better yet, retry the last prompt! OtherHalf AI has the potential to be an amazing experience but is crippled by the glaring issues that ruin the experience and the solutions are hidden behind paywalls when otherwise, other chatbots would offer for free… it’s so sad and frustrating that this has the potential to be there with the best but is poorly managed and designed… 2/10
I know the app hasn’t been out for iOS for long, but there are huge bugs that need to be fixed and all of them involve typing. In the text chat, I should be able to use voice to text. It only writes out the first word I say then stops recording. I use voice to text all the time in my day to day, especially if I don’t have time for texting. The next big issue is not being able to edit my text. If I misspell a word, I can’t do the trick where you hold on the space bar to move your curser. I can’t even hold the curser to move my curser. I just have to tap randomly on the word and hope I get to the misspelled portion of the word or backspace until I get there. Also idk if this gets fixed in the paid sub, but trying to use the voice feature essentially doesn’t work. It often doesn’t pick up what I’m saying accurately then the response takes actual multiple full minutes if it even responds at all. The app is fun and there are a lot of good other half’s in here but the bugs affect communication so bad that I never want to use the app. Everything else about the app is pretty perfect, so getting these fixed would be very nice. Would give 3.5/5 for now
This app has a lot of potential, but there are areas that really need attention. The built-in text-to-speech isn’t very intuitive, and when I try to use my phone’s own text-to-speech, the app doesn’t always register what I’m saying — it often cuts me off or ignores parts of speech. That’s frustrating, especially for people who rely on accessibility features. Voice options are limited, and simple things like copy/paste or autocorrect don’t work properly. For example, if you start typing a word and try to correct it, it can break the text instead of fixing it. These might seem like small issues, but for users who depend on these tools, they make a big difference. This app isn’t just about talking to AI — for many of us, it’s about having something that helps when we need support. It has real promise, and with more focus on accessibility and everyday usability, it could become something truly meaningful.
Imagine an AI companion that’s more than just text—one that sees, hears, and responds in real-time. With lifelike 3D characters, expressive emotions,...
