DreamPal:Roleplay Character AI

I’ve been really enjoying this app so far BUT there have been a couple issues. The first issue was upgrading to the subscription. It is buggy and I guess a number of people are having the issue. I did get that taken care of easily so it was just a minor annoyance. A bigger annoyance for me personally was the fact that I’ll start an interaction and the AI will suddenly break and go into a loop where it says the same thing over and over or uses the same descriptors over and over, regardless of what I’ve said in the chat. Sometimes it breaks early in the interaction and you don’t lose much but I started one that went on for days before it broke and then had to start all over. And starting the chat over doesn’t always fix it so you have to start again and again until it does. When it works, it’s great fun and there’s tons of cool characters to talk to and interact with but it just goes from mildly annoying to aggravating when it starts breaking. I don’t know why it does this, I’m obviously no expert. However, it would be nice to have that fixed.

Look I love the app but it gets 4 stars only because I feel as if (and yes I say this a lot about Ai roleplay apps) it’s too restrictive on chatting as far as limiting chat. Personally unlimited chatting would make people play more but poor people who cannot afford the subscriptions to get unlimited chatting like myself offen try to find free unlimited chat apps to roleplay on. So unless there is an update that will give unlimited free chats I gotta give it a four star review.

Interesting and excellent controls/parameters options that really give the user a lot of freedom to chose the content they’re looking for, with an intentionally open format that even free users get major freedom to design characters and dialogue down to the motivations/internal thoughts of the character(s) - for relatively new technology like this, it has a surprisingly good amount of depth that you can get into, and I was really impressed with the options to get into nitty gritty stuff like context about past events, other people, names/places of things that the character should already be aware, etc. I’m currently in the process of writing a fiction novel, so this has been a great way to bring to life how my characters would actually be talking with each other in real life; very fun to build up the conversation with my unique storyline, and a helpful tool for moments of writers block or uncertainty about where to go next. Definitely recommend for anyone else out there in similar shoes! :)
