Reviews: What People Think About Day Flow: AI Daily Planner

Update: one month in. A great start to an AI enhanced scheduling app and getting better every time!! You are investing in potential with this app - it is very functional now and is just scratching the surface of the potential of AI for time management. The developers are very active, listen to feedback and are adding features and functionality regularly. In fact they addressed my largest issues with the app in a month! Lots of pluses: Adding single and multiple tasks and events using the voice command works well most of the time and the app suggests times and task lengths to block out my schedule. It adds life hacks to each task and emojis too. It has a simple clean UI and simple settings, a voice search, voice rescheduling and general AI information. Minuses: calendar syncing is weird (duplicates and doesn’t update tasks); really needs a standard task search; really needs a web or MacOS/PC app; ability to mark calendar events as busy or not to allow tasks to fill in if not busy; Siri integration; could benefit from AI generated task snooze options; additional UI appearance options; etc.

It looks like this is a newer app and there's is some good engagement from the developer so I'll come back to this review and keep the app on my phone for now here in my initial impressions: - AI creates events but doesn't sync them back into your calendar from what I can see. - Once it does this, I'd want to see if it can handle a request to create it for a specific calendar (work, home, personal, family, etc) - For how this app is branded I would consider the above "just expected" - I couldn't see anything in the plus plan that (to my eyes) isn't already possible without it. I'm probably wrong but the point is it wasn't apparent. - after asking it to make an event it gave me a preview of what it was about to do but I was surprised that I couldn't hit the button to talk back to the AI that was right in front of me. My option was to save or not save what it was suggesting. kind of feels like the point is to give users the ability to continuously engage.
Personally, I don't think it's a great product strategy to try to also become a replacement for anyone's existing to do list application. That is also a crowded product landscape that has already been refined pretty well. I would rather this just get the AI right and let me roll my own to do list manager maybe have integration options instead. fine-tuning how the GPT backend integrates with the application flow is an interesting enough problem to solve to merit this applications usefulness.

I am deleting this app, because I was not given enough time or the opportunity to check out the app to see if I even like it before being overwhelmed and annoyed by the pop up to try to make me upgrade to the paid version of the app kept interrupting me when I was still working on setting up the basics like daily alarms. The first time it came up, I had only been on the app for about 30 seconds and had only made it past the first step, so I didn’t know anything about the app yet or if I would even like it. I almost deleted the app right then because it made me think I had to pay to use the app until I noticed a small faded X in the corner of my screen. I don’t like companies that use tricky, misleading sales tactics like this app does. I decided I would keep using it because I was really looking forward to using the app to help me become more organized and remember things. Then like 2 minutes later, when I was trying to set up my wake up alarms, it popped up again in a different way and I tried to get it off the screen so I could save my alarms, but it just kept popping back up. That was ridiculous and a complete waste of my valuable time. I didn’t have a chance to even see what features the app has to know if it would be useful to me at all, because I wasn’t able to make it past setting a few basic alarms and I don’t need an app for that.
