I used HomeBoost after a suggestion from Nicor Gas. It was extremely easy to sign up, the audit kit/tools arrived in less than a week and the instructional videos and tools were very easy to understand and follow. I scanned our lights immediately and replaced 25 bulbs. I set up our house in the App in about 15 minutes. I couldn’t complete the audit immediately because the inside and outside temperatures were too similar. As chance would have it, we had a 90+ degree week and I did the full audit of our house in 40 minutes from beginning to end. This included getting into the attic, taking photos of nameplate data , etc. THE NEXT DAY I got a full report with a personalized video from the company that explained each and every detail, room by room, that could benefit from improvements. My wife and I watched the video and just kept agreeing with the energy audit findings. Brilliant that the team helps you by describing what are Do It Yourself (DIY) projects and what should be completed by professionals. This was an amazing experience and I wish everyone would do this for yourself, you will learn so much about your home and what you can do to save energy and improve your comfort and utility spend. I wish everyone at HomeBoost the most success and keep up the amazing work and product. I am a retired engineer, but this is likely the best time I’ve had this summer doing this audit, using the FLIR camera and just making a list of how to address known issues. Thanks again and for showing how the improvements will help!
This service is great! It had specific, actionable suggestions that will save me money immediately and over the long term. I’ve done a fair bit of energy efficient improvements in my home but this was far more useful than I expected. In particular, it identified some unexpected problem areas, had some great, inexpensive DIY recommendations and some professional options with cost estimates to help me plan for the long term. The appliance review was super useful to know the age and expected life of all my appliances in a new home. This was well worth the money.
This app and two devices are quite amazing. This easily gave me a much more thorough a review of the drafts in my house as the old fashioned guy who charged me a lot of $$ to seal up the front door of my house and blow it with fans and give me a half accurate idea of where my drafts are. I love the personalized customer service and the follow up ideas too.
