My Classic-Retro Console

I love this app. There are two devices, and I am super in favor of the “classic 2008 MP3 player”. I actually replaced my Apple music app with it on the Home Screen just because of how good it is. One bug I did notice is that sometimes the covers in the slideshow preview on the right will rapidly flicker instead of slowly fade. Hope that gets fixed. Wishlist: +Add Podcasts and Books (audio books) support to the 2008 MP3 player. +Add the classic 2008 MP3 player games (Breakout, Snake I think, etc) if possible. +Add photo mode to the camera for 2008 MP3 player. +Add the ability to listen to “radio” or basically just Apple Music. +Add contrast slider to retro boy (not a firm request would just be fun). +Add other options for viewing music to Retro Boy. Overall: worth the three bucks and absolutely worth tipping to the dev for.

The retro feel of a GameBoy or a classic iPod is exactly what you would expect on a slab of glass. Haptics are great to imagine what the feel of each device should be like. Music selection needs different options for what order things are played. Only real options for order are shuffle from main menu of entire library, top-down from selected albums, or A-Z in playlists. It's slightly frustrating that playlists created in Apple Music don't translate 1:1 into this app, because I have some playlists that work best from the specific order I arranged them in, and instead this app automatically arranges the playlists from A-Z. More options for how users would like their music to be played would be greatly appreciated to truly replicate the classic iPod feel, as well as keeping user-created playlists exactly as they were intended from the Apple Music app.

I love the retro feel. As much as I love my iPhone, I miss my old iPod. It even has the tactile feel of the click wheel. I will give them a full five stars if they fix the spelling errors. I’ll still happily use it, but the “Ramdom Play” takes me out of the experience. Also, a settings area would be nice, especially for languages. Maybe even the games, like solitaire, they had on some of the last iPods would be cool.
