We signed up to Unit [e] (its first name) back in 1999 when they had just started. Since then our journey to a negative carbon household has been supported at every turn. From almost literally handholding for the installation of our solar panels in 2008 and our first EV in 2015 to heat pump in 2019, GE have been helpful and encouraging all the way. We’re immensely grateful for all they’ve done and are still doing. Still the best green supplier.
Customer service is excellent : real humans, not chat bots, who listen to you and are focused on solving any issues. I’ll cite one great example : my meter skipped recording some data on a day. I use a time of use tariff so when my meter records use matters. They couldn’t get the data by my billing data - so simply didn’t bill me for the day. It wouldn’t have been a large amount of £ but they took the loss. It was a stark contrast to my previous supplier.
So yesterday I received an email telling me that the old app (which worked fine) is no longer current and that I should download the new one. I did so only to find that it doesn’t work at all. Initial sign in results in an error message and an email with a sign in link. I believe this is because I have two factor authentication turned on but that is not what the error message says. On clicking on the email link and signing in again I am taken to a website using Safari. The only useful thing I can do there is input a meter reading and nothing else. What is the point of an app that simply directs the user to a website? Waste of time.
